The Economic Club of New York is pleased to welcome Dr. Stephen Kotkin, Director of Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies. Dr. Kotkin, a noted historian and expert on Russia and the former Soviet Union, will be joined by Chair Emerita of the Club, Marie-Josée Kravis, Vice-Chair, The Hudson Institute to discuss the unfolding situation in Ukraine and its implications.

Ray is the founder, Co-Chief Investment Officer and Co-Chairman of Bridgewater Associates, which rose to become the largest hedge fund in the world. He will discuss his new book Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order which examines history's most turbulent economic and political periods.

SIFMA analyzes the Roundtable's expectations for: GDP, unemployment, inflation, interest rates, and more. REUTERS: Fed's Harker says he does not expect rates to rise until taper is complete

Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Patrick Harker said on Monday that he does not expect interest rates to rise until after the central bank is done tapering its asset purchases, but that the Fed is prepared to act on high inflation if needed.

“I don’t expect that the federal funds rate will rise before the tapering is complete,” Harker said during a virtual event organized by the Economic Club of New York. “But we are monitoring inflation very closely and are prepared to take action, should circumstances warrant it.”
