Van Allen is president of the Economic Club of New York, the nation’s foremost nonprofit and nonpartisan speaking forum for social, political, and economic issues. She represents the organization at the highest levels of domestic and international government, business and finance and, together with her Board, regularly serves as host to heads of state, central bankers, Supreme Court justices, secretaries general of the United Nations, international business leaders as well as key cabinet members, military leaders, ambassadors, members of Congress, and innovators across all sectors.  

Previously, Ms. Van Allen was president and founder of Van Allen Associates, a strategic communications consulting firm specializing in stakeholder outreach and government affairs for senior leadership in industries highly impacted by regulation such as finance and health care.


She has served in senior leadership roles in the trade association, corporate, and government sectors including ITT Corporation, Cushman & Wakefield, and on Capitol Hill as a legislative adviser to several members of Congress. Ms. Van Allen serves on the Governing Board of the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys and is a member of the YWCA Academy of Women Achievers.
